My Very Own Leaning Tower

Sorry this is the only picture I have, but my camera batteries died right after I took this. By the time they were charged, he was looking a little better and had a shirt on.
Last Friday, Jon's back was a bit tight when he got home. But after a LONG first week at his new job, he was in bed before 7pm and slept until around 8am on Saturday. When he woke up, this is what he looked like. His back muscles were so tight......... this was standing up straight! (Please don't feel sorry only for Jon though. Of course we had places to be on Saturday and church on Easter Sunday. I had to walk around with him looking like this!!!)
He went to the chiro twice this week and is no longer leaning.

In other pictures, this is what greeted me when I got out of the shower one night this week. Jon was giving Braden a blackjack lesson.

Hope everyone is enjoying their spring break! I know I am! Monday is fast approaching and I have no idea what my little ones will be doing now that the holidays are all behind us. Any ideas? This weekend, we will be taking our trip to the indoor waterpark that had been snowed out several weeks ago. Keep us in your prayers! (There is no snow in the forecast for this weekend!)

Coolest Teacher?

Maybe.
Last week, my W-F kiddos were treated to a special story read by Susan Mathew (Children's Director at the church). She read "The Jacket I Wear in the Snow" to them. To make the story more exciting, I put on the MANY layers of clothes as she read. She gave me a list of items the day before. I brought in some of my winter clothes & some of Jon's. (It's a lot easier getting his stuff over my own!)

Here we are towards the beginning of the story. I have on my coat, a red scarf, red hat, and am putting on my mittens.

Much later in the story, I had to put on long johns. Even using Jon's, I had some trouble.

Here we are at the end. Susan (playing the part of the mom in the story) helps me to get out of ALL of my winter clothes. I had on the coat, scarf, mittens, hat, long johns, extra socks, boots, and a sweater! And all of this was over the jeans and sweater I was already wearing! --No, the long johns never did get on all the way. And yes, it was a little warm. But the kids loved it! There were lots of laughs.

Still Snowy

We got a "butt-load" of snow this weekend. Thankfully it was this weekend and my wonderful husband was home to help me shovel the driveway. (Snow blower won't start.) It made shoveling 5+" much more enjoyable for me.
After we finished, Jon came in and stripped off all of his wet clothes in the laundry room. He was making his way upstairs when his dad called, so he stopped to talk:

The head shot doesn't do justice to the full look. Those are silk long johns!

Winter makes Dallas and I sleepy it seems. I've never been a napper, but I'm doing it more and more as winter DRAGS on. Luckily, we have Jon to take our picture!

All the Time....

God Is Good!

About one hour ago, I brought my new car home. We turned in the Pacifica (my lease was up) and leased a new Dodge Charger. It's pretty sweet! Jon and Braden both fit in it, which was key when shopping for a car instead of another SUV. It's "Cool Vanilla" (they couldn't find the Steel Blue color I really liked).
I think I'll like it. Time will tell! It's an adjustment from the Pacifica, that's for sure.

And why is God so good?
It's not because of my sweet new wheels. --- Beginning Monday, Jon will be starting a new job. He'll be a supervisor and will get to drive a sweet company minivan!! (It's pretty ugly) We are so blessed by this answer to prayer. It will be longer hours for a while. I will probably have to start cooking dinner myself! But what a blessing to know that others see how much more Jon has to offer!
God is good........... All the time!
Sometimes we don't see it. Sometimes we don't feel it. But always He is working for good. Remember to ALWAYS sing praises to our Father in Heaven. In good times and in bad, He is with us. And He is working.

Thoughts & Feelings

Since I can't get my pictures to load for some reason, I thought I would share a great song we sang in church this morning.
Why were we at church you ask, instead of at the indoor waterpark for Braden's belated b-day?
Well, I'll tell you. It's because it freakin snowed all day here in Ohio. I don't know how much we actually got, but they were supposed to get 6-10" at the hotel.
We shoveled & shoveled!
Is spring ever coming? I hope so because Monday morning I pick up my sweet new wheels and I DO NOT want to be driving a new car on snowy, icy, slushy streets! (I'll post pictures when it comes home. Jon & I signed all the papers on Friday but I wanted to drive the Pacifica to Cedar Point instead of putting the miles on the new one.)
Oh, and for the record, Spring Daylight Savings is the WORST day of the year!!!
Now getting back to the song..........

My Savior My God

I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at His right hand
Stands one who is my Savior

I take Him at His word and deed
Christ died to save: this I read
And in my heart I find a need
Of Him to be my Savior

That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

chorus:
My Savior Loves, my Savior lives
My Savior’s always there for me
My God: He was, my God: He is
My God is always gonna be

Yes, living, dying: let me bring
My strength, my solace from the spring
That He who lives to be my king
Once died to be my Savior

We Party Like Rock Stars

Saturday night we had some friends over. Brooke and Mitch arrived first and were interested in checking out Rock Band. After Jon and Braden demonstrated the guitar and drums, Braden moved to vocals and Brooke and Mitch hoped on the guitar and drums.

We had a great time visiting with friends. And the Baer's brought their son, Dillon, along to hang out with Braden. Can't wait to have another "get together!"

Encore

Later in the night, Mitch was replaced by Stacey on the drums.

(Stacey, you look so focused and so serious! Not really the Stacey I know)

Is Spring Ever Coming?

This is the scene outside our house one week ago today. It was absolutely beautiful! One of those moments when you know only God could create something so amazing!
One week later: we're sitting at home again. All schools dismissed at 1:30 because of the expected 1-2" of ice that has begun to rain down....... to be followed by 4-6" of snow. (So they say) We'll have to wait and see what happens.
I'm waiting for Jon to call and let me know he's leaving Ft. Wayne. I'll feel better about the weather once he's home safely.
