They Lost

Just letting you know that Braden's team lost today 12-6. It was SOOOOOOOOO hot out there! You'd never know that it's supposed to be in the 50's in a few days. Braden played 3 quarters again and thought it was pretty cool to hear his name over the loud speaker when he made a few tackles.

FYI

Just thought I'd share with you:

Tonight I fixed myself a bowl of this new oatmeal we bought. I let Jon finish it off because I didn't think it was as fabulous as it sounded at the store.
Anyway, a short time later, he asked me if I could fix him another bowl "BECAUSE YOU MAKE IT BETTER THAN I DO." -- It's instant oatmeal! Seriously?

Why not be honest and say, "because:
1. I've had a really long day at work today" (which I wouldn't believe)
2. I've worked all day, then had to go to football practice as soon as I got home, and now I'm exhausted and hungry and there's nothing else to eat" (which I would believe)
3. I don't want to get up and do it myself, but I will if I have to" (which is the honest answer!)

Lucky Girl

Not that anyone reads my blog (or cares enough to comment), but Dallas loves the treat Jon brought home from work on Thursday!
One of his drivers brought it to him...... not too sure why. said her dogs loved them and thought his might too..... As you can see, it's almost as long as she is. She spent almost 2 hrs working on it the first day! We almost didn't go on a walk because she wouldn't stop chewing on it. And it's so heavy, it took all she had to drag it from the front porch into the front room. And best of all, she smells nice and smokey when she's done working on the bone! Makes me crave some BBQ!

Who Are You?

My web counter shows that I have had over 5,000 hits!
Very exciting....... & I've only had it on my page for a few months now.
But no one (almost no one) ever leaves comments.
Who are you?

What a Week!

Boy was I pooped by the time I crawled in bed last night!

Monday: I didn't run most of the errands on my list! No excuse. Just wasn't in the mood. Tuesday: Went to Ft Wayne to have lunch with my cousins. I left VW early and stopped at Kohls, PetSmart, and Target. Then got turned around about where I was/needed to go and was close to tears by the time I (with the help of Jon via cell phone) got back to where I needed to be!Wednesday: I had Josh most of the day and Justin when he got done at preschool. Braden started AWANA this week too.
Thursday: I had Josh & Justin for 9 hrs!!! One wouldn't stop picking on the other. The other was upset about being picked on all day. Then I had to get Braden to football (with the boys), pick him and Nick up early from football to go to dance, drop Nick off after dance, and then get home to get Braden around for bed and the house cleaned up before Friday's madness began!
Friday: I had both boys again AND it rained most of the day, so we couldn't play outside!!!! We did go to the library for a little bit in the morning though. Then at 5pm, when they were getting picked up, Layce was pulling up to drop her 3 kiddos off. She was shooting her first wedding this weekend and had the rehearsal last night. We took them to Pizza Hut and then back home for a wild night of playing! It was well after 11pm before Jon and I headed to bed.
Saturday: I've had a much quieter day. Mostly I've done laundry, dishes, vacuumed, etc. This is also my weekend to do the PowerPoint at church. So I spent some time working on that while Braden played with a friend. Jon helped run a flag football clinic at the Y this morning and then watched his Ducks when in dbl OT!

Here is Aisha loving our giant beanbag..... and having her picture taken. (You'd think her mom was a photographer or something!)

Wild man, Xander. He loved playing with Braden's spy goggles, sword, and Nerf guns.

Poor Trinity! She's been feeling bad but the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with her. After not eating dinner, I finally bribed her into eating some Scooby-Doo applesauce.

Jon and Trinity building a Mega Blocks race track on the porch.

Xander fighting evil while Trinity tries to jump on the beanbag.

I don't know about you, but I am ready for bed! So glad Braden has a bye tomorrow!

Victory #1

Braden played his first tackle football game Sunday afternoon and they won 12-0!
Woo-hoo!
Braden played 3 quarters without coming off the field at all (except for halftime and time-outs). He was pooped by the end of the game. But he did pretty well. He even broke through the line once and ALMOST got to the QB for a sack. Almost!
Coach Dad said that if Braden and Kaden keep blocking the way they did on Sunday, they'll send the ball carriers behind them every time. After we got home, he showered, fixed a sandwich, and layed down to watch some tv. It wasn't long before he was asleep. He had a nice nap, and then couldn't fall asleep at bedtime. So glad they got the day off today! He's excited to come home after school and rest :)

If Looks Could Kill

.... Jon would be dead!

Dallas and Jon staring each other down. Dallas tries to break you with her eyes!

Jon doesn't seem to care how much Dallas loves grilled turkey and cheese sandwiches.

How 'bout potato chips? Any of those left?

Fine! She'll just settle for cleaning Jon's fingers!

Randomness

So I thought I would try and remember all of the random thoughts I've had this past week, but hadn't posted, and share them. (I have no pictures and haven't done anything super interesting.)

1. Can you believe Jon and I have been together for just over 6 yrs! Some days it sure seems like forever, but mostly time has flown by.

2. I'm currently watching the new "90210." Do they really expect us to believe some of these kids are high schoolers?
And the original "90210" was way better! So thrilled that Nat and Kelly are in it! Never been a big fan of Brenda though!

3. How sweet is it that McCain's VP pick is not only a woman, but an attractive woman from Alaska! And yes, I've seen the headlines about her 17 yrs. old daughter being pregnant, but that's not something I can comment on.

4. So over days when the temperature exceeds 83 degrees.

5. Braden's been going to the high school home football games with my grandpa the past 2 Fridays. So Jon and I have been having "date nights." We've been renting movies we never saw when they were in the theaters. We've watched Fools Gold and 21. Both were really great!

6. Am I really supposed to believe these kids are 16!!!

7. Braden wants the computer, so I guess this is all the randomness for tonight.
