New Wheels

My two years are up (kind of)! Monday night, we turned in my Dodge Charger and brought home a Jeep Patriot. I had one month left on my lease, but there were extra rebates this month that they couldn't guarantee would be available next month. This one has a few more features than I need, but it was the only one in the area that had some of the items we wanted (mainly color - most of the new Jeep paint colors are ugly!)
Here is Jon being shown all the features. The dash is basically the same as the Charger, so he really didn't need the walk through. I got the walk through last week when I picked it up for a test drive so I was staying out of the way. (Braden is in the back seat.)

Driving it out of the showroom! I refuse to do that!

After a quick stop at the grocery, we parked it in the garage and said goodnight! Its a lot shorter than the Charger. It was nice to have room in the garage again. It also gets better gas mileage and is front/all wheel drive.
Check back soon for my post about the dietary changes our family is making!

He Just Keeps Growing

My grandparents came back from Florida a few weeks ago. They were both shocked at how much Braden has grown this winter. He just keeps getting taller and thinner! One day, after they got back, Braden went over to get measured on the back porch. We've all been measured on the back porch growning up. My uncles are on there. My cousins. My brothers. Me. And now Braden.
Here is Braden next to Grandpa Ernie. Almost the same height!

Gram measuring Braden. The highest mark between the two of them is from the last time Braden was measured. (I think Braden said he's grown 2 inches in 9 months. I think.) He's now about 5' 7.5"...... at 11 yrs old!

Hanging Out

This past Saturday, we actually had nothing going on. Braden had a friend over the night before. Jon took them to see Clash of the Titans. And then Nick left around lunch time Saturday. (We were supposed to go to my cousin's little girl's 2nd birthday party, but I forgot!)
So that afternoon we all headed outside because Braden wanted to throw the football ---- which turned into a few games of H-O-R-S-E and a dunk-off ---- which Jon won. My grandpa took a few pictures of the boys.
Braden got to dunk on 7' and Jon had to dunk on 10'...... (seems fair, right?)

I am always the first one out when we play H-O-R-S-E so I decided to relax on the swing. I was so tired I didn't even bother getting out the cushion! (Dallas was roaming around the yard.)
It's been cooler here. Saturday the sunshine was great but the windy was super icy! I'm ready for the return of mid 70s!

Ottoville Tourney

I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures from Braden's last tournament of the year. (Unless they put together a summer AYBT team.) Blogger is taking forever to upload the photos though, so if you want to see the rest of them, check out my facebook page.

Here is a picture of my boys on the bench. Jon can get pretty intense during games. When he has a sucker in his mouth, he's a lot quieter. So the Easter Bunny put a bag of Blow Pops in his basket this year! He went through one or two a game during the tourney.

AJ, Braden, Mason, and Nick taking a breather and watching their teammates.

Braden's Nike Shox and ankle braces in between Jon's Converse.

Can you believe how tall and thin Braden's gotten? If you watch him long enough, you can actually see him growing!

The only team photo I got of Braden smiling. He was bummed that they lost the championship game. Runner-Up is still impressive! Way to go Hornets!
(By the way, at least 4 of the kids standing in this photo are older than Braden. The other 2 I'm not sure about. Maybe they are all older than Braden.)

HGTV-type Ideas?

So the are walls are a little darker (sandy yellow, I believe) and our new furniture is in (although they had to order another sofa since this one is broken too) but I need help!
I have no idea what to hang on the walls now! Also, I want to find a tall lamp for behind my chair. The walls you can see are plain and also the wall on the other side of the doorway into the dining room. Any ideas?
And if anyone would like to pay for new flooring, that would be awesome!
