Last Friday night, we went to the Lake Festival in Celina. We picked up Braden's friend and drove to the Hazels'. They have a beautiful home in their family's old chicken hatchery. It is a 3 story brick building and they live on the second floor (and it's about a block from the water and all the festivities!) We had dinner on their deck with lots of other people. After that, we took the boys down to the festival for a few hours before heading back to the Hazels' for more food and fireworks.
It was so great. Everyone brought a dish, ate together, split into their own groups to go to the festival, then came together again for fireworks! LOVED IT!!
Here are the boys on the ride the decided to go on. Braden looked like he was going to throw up half the time.... then he started to smile. It went backwards half the time and then went forwards. He liked one way, but not the other.

Half Birthday
Sunday night, the 19th, Braden had some friends over for his belated birthday party. (He delayed is January party so that he and friends could go swimming.) Sunday night we took the boys to a pond party the youth at our church were having. It was really chilly that weekend (think long sleeves and pants) but a bunch of them still went swimming. This included Braden's group. They swam and did flips off the diving board for several hours. Then they stayed up until who really knows when! They got up around 8-9am Monday morning. Had breakfast. Went outside and played wiffle ball. Came in for lunch and cake. Got changed. Went swimming at the Celina pool for 3+ hours. Everyone got picked up. Braden showered, ate dinner, and then slept for 13.5 hours!
Here are a few pictures I took of the boys Monday morning.
Braden moved from his sleeping bag on the floor to the couch. Matt, with wild hair, looking through his cards while Nick still slept. (Poor Nick was woken up by the other guys and had to go straight to football after swimming on Monday! -- He is the only one out of these 4 that is playing tackle football this year.)
