HGTV-type Ideas?

So the are walls are a little darker (sandy yellow, I believe) and our new furniture is in (although they had to order another sofa since this one is broken too) but I need help!
I have no idea what to hang on the walls now! Also, I want to find a tall lamp for behind my chair. The walls you can see are plain and also the wall on the other side of the doorway into the dining room. Any ideas?
And if anyone would like to pay for new flooring, that would be awesome!

I just really loved this quote that I came across when reading Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter..... Yes. I read it. But I actually wouldn't have even known about it if Jon hadn't found it at the library and brought it home. (He's at the library a lot) The vampire hunting is actually threaded through the actual events of his life. Except for the ending, I really enjoyed reading it.

Hello Out There!

We're alive and well! And I've had pictures to post for some time, but Blogger has been difficult and I get frustrated :)
Here are a few of the pictures I keep trying to post.
My boys and Dallas cuddling on our "new" couch. This is the couch we picked out, but it was damaged during shipping. So they ordered and delivered a new couch last Monday. Guess what? It was broken too!! Grrr! So we are currently awaiting another couch. The chair has arrived and is great. I'll have to take and post a picture of that in the room because I'm having trouble deciding what to put on the walls.

And Braden. Oh Braden! He is always making me laugh. And I'm pretty sure that if you watch him long enough, you'll see him growing taller and thinner.

Here are pictures of Braden's foot this morning (happened Saturday afternoon). It's hard to see, but there is a bruise below his ankle. He's still limping a bit and doesn't like people to bump/step on it :)
And yes, his feet are always fat like that!

And here is a glimpse of the living room wall color: Sandy Yellow. The walls are all painted (still need to freshen up the trim) and I love the color. But only one wall has something hanging on it. It just can't decide what to do with the walls along the doorway to the dining room. Suggestions?

Still waiting on our new furniture to arrive. And still need to try and sell our current furniture on Craigslist!

A Belated Happy Birthday to Jon!

It was just brought to my attention (**cough**AMANDA) that while I blogged a "happy birthday" to Braden on his birthday, I did not blog a "happy birthday" to Jon on Wednesday (possibly because I worked and then had 10 high school kids over to fellowship.... and also sing to Jon and have some cake!) I did post a birthday wish on Facebook, but someone didn't seem to care about that one (**cough**AMANDA)!!!

And because posts are better with pictures, here's one of Jon hugging someone who is not me.
