Random & Pictureless

Because I haven't posted in a while...
And because I've been too tired/lazy to upload trick-or-treat pictures of Braden....
And because I've spent entirely too much time tonight working on my Nov. newsletter for ONE of my preschool classes...
And because my back is killing me and I don't see Dr. Taylor until Monday...

I thought I would post a quote from last week's episode of Criminal Minds. (I really liked it!)

Fairy tales don't teach children that dragons exist.
Children already know that dragons exist.
Fairy tales teach children that dragons can be killed.
I'll try and get around to posting pictures someday..... hopefully this week :)

Name That Movie

My boys are camping in Michigan this week-end. So far, I'm not too lonely. I slept great! I have a batch of pb cookies to try and eat before they come home. And I'm going to the Apple Festival later with Brooke. (Not by myself. I have a friend named Brooke.)

Since I have no pictures to post, I thought I would post my current favorite movie quote. Can you guess the movie?

"Are those 1 x 5s?"

"No, 1 x 6s."

"Really? They don't look that wide from down here."

And then a little later in the movie:

"1 x 6s. Same coverage. Less boards."

Jon can vouch for how long I laughed at these comments! Have a great weekend!

Victory #2

Finally last Tuesday night, Braden's flag team got their second victory of the season! And even better (we hope) is that they play the same team in Round 1 of the tournament.

Here are a few pictures from the game:
Jon and Grant warming up before the game.

Braden on defense.

Coach Mike - whose main game day duty is bench crowd control. Every game these two boys sit on his lap the majority of the time they are on the bench. I think they're adorable!

Tourney begins Monday at 6pm! Keep them in your prayers! It's been a rough season.

Stop Chewing Your Mouthpiece!

Below is documentation of Braden doing something he has been told REPEATEDLY not to do! He just won't stop chewing on it. And then he complains that it hurts the back of his mouth. Wonder why!

Wrapping Up a Fun Weekend

Monday morning it was time to say good-bye to Grandma and Grandpa. But before they left, they managed to squeeze in a little game time with Brady.

Here Brady teaches Grandpa how to play Fast Action Football.

As you can see, running in jeans in a warm house got Grandpa a little overheated.

Playing "the Price is Right." (maybe Grandpa is a little more than overheated. But at least he's smiling!)

We are really glad Grandma and Grandpa were able to spend a long weekend with us, even if they did bring 90+ degree temperatures with them! Now its time to welcome the fall weather. It's supposed to be cooler and cooler as the week goes on.

Enjoy the pics. (Amanda) I'm off to bed!

Corn Maze

Saturday night, we took Grandma and Grandpa out to Kernel Coopers Corn Maze. Jon would have preferred to have gone while it was still light out, but I think it's more fun in the dark. We went through all three mazes ( they were 4.5, 3.4, and 1 mile in length) in just under 2 hrs. Aren't I lucky to have married someone with such a freakishly amazing sense of direction?

While leading us, Jon managed to hide and scare Grandma twice (she screamed!) and Brady once. It was super fun! And I was proud of myself because once, aside from the three times we were exiting, I was able to tell where we were by looking on the map. Trust me, that's amazing!

Here we are at check point #2. Each maze had 6 check pts for find and mark off on the maps.

Brady takes a while when operating a hole puncher.

Here they are, happy to be out of the maze! Behind them are shots of this year's maze as well as the previous years'. (Grandpa Jack got a little overheated)

Afterwards, Brady got to pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to bring home.

He loves it!

I have a few more pictures of Brady that I may post later. And if you haven't checked it out already, visit http://www.kernelcoopers.com/

Brady's Flag Pics

He's cute, but they are currently 1-3, with 2 games remaining before tournament.
