Novermber Post #3

Just to get in 3 posts this month................

I just read an online article stating that the death of the Wal-Mart employee on Black Friday "was preventable." Gee, do ya think? The person was trampled to death by people shopping! They even broke the doors! And the article said that the paramedics had trouble getting to the employee because of the continued flow of people, who would not be deterred by someone injured on the ground!

On a lighter note, I have most of my shopping done! Braden went to a friend's house Saturday afternoon/evening. I got online for several hours and searched for the 2 items he's repeatedly mentioned. In the process, I found a few other items. (I was able to find the 2 requested items at Amazon cheaper than anywhere else! Saved over $25!) Now I just have to get things to stuff the boys' stockings and get a little something for the kiddos I babysit.
Any ideas on an inexpensive gift for 4-5 yr olds?

Also, the tooth Braden said would fall out on Thanksgiving is still in his mouth!

Happy December!!

Dinner & Decorating

Why do my pictures keep loading out of order?!?!?!?!? Grrrrrr!

Well, here is a picture from several weeks ago. Braden was laying on the floor (don't remember, but we might have been playing LIFE) and Dallas decided he was a good place to lay and chew her rawhide. I shot this picture and then my camera batteries died.

Last night, I had my high school small group over for dinner. Well, 4 of the 7 girls. (We had homemade chicken and noodles, homemade mashed potatoes, rolls, and homemade pumpkin bars and homemade iced sugar cookies)
After dinner, the girls worked on their "outfits" for the upcoming high school Christmas party at church. I thought it would be funny for them to make and wear "Christmas sweaters." They are super creative! Can't wait until next week........ assuming they are brave enough to wear them. And assuming the paint is dry by then :)

Out of order, here is Kayla's finished project. Among other things, she traced Christmas cookie cutters with glitter puff paint. And to top it off, cut slits in the bottom that she then wove lace ribbon in and out of!

Kayla and Christina with their finished creations. C. then helped to sew bells on the bottoms of Danielle's "arm warmers" - previously the sleeves of her Christmas sweater.

D. (on left) and Brittany (they're identical twins, but that's hard to see in the pic) beginning to lay out their sweaters.

K. and C. beginning their sweaters. (Last night was the first time C. had ever used an iron!)

We had dessert after the sweaters were done and then watched Elf. Overall, I think they had a good time and good food. I was exhausted by the time I crawled into bed a little after 11:00 pm! Doesn't that make me sound old!

Let the Worshippers Arise

We sang this song in church this morning, and giving the current state of things, the first two verses really struck a chord with me. I hope you enjoying and sing along in your heads!

Father I see that you are drawing a line in the sand
And I want to be standing on your side, holding your hand
So let your kingdom come, let it live in me
This is my prayer, this is my plea

Father I see that you are drawing a line in the sand
And I want to be standing on your side, holding your hand
So let your kingdom come, let it live in me
This is my prayer, this is my plea

[chorus]
Let the worshippers arise
Let the sons and the daughters sing
I surrender in my all, I surrender to the King
Let the worshippers arise
Let the sons and the daughters sing
I surrender in my all, I surrender to the King

Father I hear it growing louder
The song of your redeemed
As the saints of every nation
Are awakening to sing
From our hearts there comes an anthem
Oh, hear the heavens ring
This is our song, a song to our King!
[chorus 3x]
