There's Just Too Many

Happy Birthday to......

my dad (yesterday)

Megan, Amanda, and Phil (today)

Becca and Uncle Bill (this Friday)

...... hope no one is offended by not getting a card from us. I've really been horrible about buying/sending cards. (the last cards purchased and sent by me were for Mother's Day) Sorry!

I love you all!!!

And a belated happy-blog-birthday-day to my cousins Rachel (9-11) and Sara (9-16)

Doesn't Everyone Have a Digital Camera?

Because if Gibby's Photography did, you would think they would have taken another picture.

Jon thinks Braden looks like someone just punched him. I think he looks like he's trying not to cry. And though you might not be able to tell online, in the originals, he's all sweaty!

Thank goodness for Picture Retake Day! (I am reminded once again why I dislike Gibby's. The lady that answered their phone wasn't even nice about it. It's not my fault they can't take good pictures!)

This photo was a little better. Coach Dad and Braden. (Braden believes football players shouldn't smile for the camera.) The rest of the football pictures will be ready tomorrow. I'll try and post those Tuesday or Wednesday.

It's Really Not Hard.....

to be this cool!

This is what I found last night when I went in to turn Brady's music and night light off:

I bought the hat he is wearing last spring for a book display I had to do in my children's lit class. (It was $0.10 at Old Navy) It was in a box I went through last Friday in preparation for our garage sale. Braden snatched it right up because, "it's like the hats Ryan wears in High School Musical!" And he LOVES those movies!
I also found the hat on the bedpost on Monday. He loves that as well. So if anyone happens across golf hats or fedoras, send them our way!
(He wore the golf hat to school this week and was informed by a friend that it was "a pimp hat!" Jon hopes they don't have any idea what a pimp really is.)

Amanda, You'll Love This!

Today after Braden got him from school, filled me in on all the exciting news about their upcoming field trip to the rock quarry (really, he's super excited!), and finished homework, I told him I was going to hop in the shower real quick before Daddy got home.

"Ok. Can I watch a movie then?"

"Sure, but only while I'm in the shower." Blah. Blah.

So I take my shower and you'll never guess what he's watching on the couch when I walk out. Never in a million years could anyone ever get this!

He was watching Daddy's high school football highlight tape! (What in the world?)

In other news: Braden's flag team lost tonight 22-20. They are currently 0-2, but they looked better this week.

Future Police Officer

Saturday morning we had a garage sale. Saturday also happened to have been the coldest day ever! The high was supposed to be 62, so imagine what it felt, like at 7:30 in the morning.

Thursday we started bringing garage sale items out to the garage. While my grandparents were bringing over their things, Grandpa brought over some old tools and an old video camera. It no longer worked, but still looked good and he thought some kid might like it. As luck would have it, that kid turned out to be mine! He snatched it right up and carried it around for the rest of the afternoon.

Later I looked out the window and found him like this:

He was pretending to be a police officer and was catching people speeding down our street. (Which happens A LOT) He even tried to tell Jon that he couldn't drive Bray's police cruiser (also known as my car) to football practice because he needed it.

Some days he cracks me up!

Here are Brady and his toes playing game boy.

Should Grammy and Bray be the same size?

It's Football Season

Yippee! (That's a sarcastic "yippee!") Football season means that I am a single mom most days. Jon is coaching youth football (4th-6th grade tackle) and Braden's flag team. Youth practices are 5pm-7pm three weeknights with games on Sunday afternoons. Brady's games are on Tuesday nights with practices one other weeknight.
Both teams lost their season openers. Brady's team was spanked last Tuesday. They have a bye this week. Jon's youth team (Mustangs) lost 14-13 today. They also have a bye next week. Hopefully both teams will be able to use this down week to regroup.

Here are some pictures from Brady's first game:

For Grandma & Grandpa

I took these pictures the day the Australia package came in the mail. I kept forgetting to post them!

Braden thought the boomerang and the money were awesome, but he also enjoyed this:

Dallas

Since Braden hasn't been around much this weekend, I've had to take pictures of the puppies instead. We've been enjoying the beautiful weather! Jon and I have taken the dogs for long walks everyday.

Dallas didn't speak to me for a while on Saturday. Jon and I ran a few errands and had lunch. Then we popped into Petland so he could check out the puppies. They had just gotten in the CUTEST puppy! She was a basset hound and shar-pei mix, a Ba-Shar. I just had to get her out and hold her. Dallas was not happy when I came home smelling like a puppy. (Last time that happened, Raider was with us) Even after I changed clothes, she hid under the couch and refused to come out!

She looks a little confused/alarmed.

Look carefully. Both dogs are in the picture, but one is hiding.
